Work Hours Requirement as Described by the Participatory Committee of 2000

Eight work hours are required by every member annually unless you were approved for exemption by the Executive Board for disability or other reasons deemed adequate.

A Participatory Committee met on December 26, 2000 to
discuss rules concerning work hours. The result of that meeting helped form our current work hours regulations.
The committee's objective was to "Increase Member participation for both attendance and work related activities.
The committee's strategy was to:

  1. Utilize current by-law Article XI Section 5
  2. Provide a monthly calendar of events
  3. Develop a comprehensive hours guideline
  4. Create an effective exemption process
  5. Initiate a phase-in process
  6. Develop a rewards/penalty process

The committee stated that:"It is our belief that every capable Member is willing to fulfill the eight (8) hour
by-lay requirement"

Results of the committees meeting:

and a minimum of two hours of work programs.
  4. Year 2003 - Members' eight hours service may be a combination of four hours of club attendance
and four hours of work programs.

  2. Executive Board admitted free of charge
